Eight Americans were arrested in the Caribbean on Tuesday after authorities found “high-powered weapons” and a “substantial quantityof ammunition” on their boat, police said.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) said in a news release that officers from the Alice Town Police Station worked with the Bahamas Customs Department to search a vessel docked at a port on Bimini, a chain of western islands some 50 miles east of Miami, Florida, on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. The officers were “acting on intelligence,” the RBPF said, but they did not specify what information they had.

The 10 occupants aboard the boat, which included eight Americans, one South African and another from Guyana, were taken into custody, the RBPF said. Those who were arrested range in age from 21 to 62, police noted. The RBPF did not identify them.

Boca Raton’s Republican mayor, Scott Singer, told Fox News Digital that if socialist Zohran Mamdani wins the New York City mayor’s race next month, Florida could see a fresh wave of relocated businesses.

“The threat of people leaving high tax, high crime jurisdictions like New York and other places is real,” Singer told Fox News Digital.

“It’s been happening for years, and Boca Raton has been the beneficiary of a lot of businesses bringing their corporate headquarters and high-paying jobs here. I think the threat is even more real. People are already preparing to leave before a Mamdani election and if the polls hold as they expect in the next few weeks, we’re going to see a lot more people looking to bring their businesses here and create jobs in Boca Raton.”

Mamdani’s socialist economic policies, along with his adoption of communist talking points like “seizing the means of production” andabolishing private property, have been a major focus for his critics who have warned his victory would negatively affect businesses in New York City, the financial capital of the world.

‘ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK’: RESEARCHER PREDICTS NYC BUSINESS EXODUS IF ZOHRAN MAMDANI WINS

The New York City Democratic mayoral nominee, Zohran Mamdani, spoke to supporters at a canvass launch event in Prospect Park on Aug. 17, 2025. (Deirdre Heavey/Fox News Digital)

“It’s hard to predict how bad the economic situation is going to be, but Mamdani doubled down at last week’s debate and said it’s about time we raised taxes, and he was grateful for it,” Singer said. “When he’s proposing a 17% marginal tax rate for New York City residents between state and local taxes, that’s 17% that they can simply give up by moving here and with jobs more mobile because of technology and with companies finding great office space here, there’s less and less reason for people to stay there.”

Singer continued, “I think one year out, you’re going to see a substantial exodus of companies that are able to move. Two years out, we’re going to see depressed values, more unemployment, higher crime. And four years out? We don’t know. I think at that point, they’ll be ready for a new mayor if what we expect to happen in November happens.”

Singer lauded the business climate in Boca Raton, notably the lowest property tax rate of any full-service city in Florida, along with no state income tax.

“People have been saying, well, we want to join you. Since Mamdani won the primary in June, we’ve had a lot of outbound outreach, as well as some marketing toward the New York market that’s been effective,” Singer explained. “And we have companies ranging from financial services to FinTech to AI and quantum computing and so many more who are looking at moving here.”

Singer, who spent years as an attorney in New York City, said “a lot” of his contacts in the city are “very concerned” about the potential of a Mamdani victory.

“They’ve reached out to explore a better life in Boca Raton, and we’re going to continue to see this in places that have lower taxes, lower regulation, welcome business, are not scaring people off with crazy ideas and the idea that you can tax people indefinitely and without limits before they start to react,” Singer said, adding that New York City “is not as captive an audience as some people think.”

“I think that’s going to be demonstrated in the coming months and years.”

CUOMO WARNS THERE WILL BE ‘NOBODY LEFT’ IN NEW YORK CITY IF MAMDANI BECOMES MAYOR

Singer also spoke to Fox News Digital about the contrast in public safety between Boca Raton and New York City, which he views as another reason why New Yorkers will consider Florida, particularly given Mamdani’s past calls to defund the police, which many of his critics argue he has not sufficiently walked back.

“In Boca Raton, we have outstanding public safety,” Singer said. “Our crime numbers have continued to drop from what were 40-year lows despite rises nationally, and I think that’s a contrast to what you’re seeing in New York.”

Singer, who chairs the America First Policy Institute Mayor’s Council, told Fox News Digital that Boca Raton is a city that prioritizes public safety and backs their police with funding.

“Contrast that with a candidate who’s had repeated comments about defunding the police, critical of public safety,” Singer said. “We support public safety in Boca Raton and I think, ultimately, that’s what a lot of people will be choosing. It’s not just taxes. It’s public safety, it’s quality of life. I think we offer that all in Boca Raton and I think there are mayors across this country who offer a counter to what you’re seeing in some of these larger cities.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the Mamdani campaign for comment.

When Virginia Roberts Giuffre first stepped into Jeffrey Epstein’s pastel-pink Palm Beach mansion at 16, she believed she was getting a chance to train as a massage therapist. What followed, she writes in “Nobody’s Girl,” was not a fairy-tale education but an education in psychological manipulation and “a school where disobedience was punished, and obedience was praised.”

In “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” Giuffre — who died by suicide earlier this year — recalled the events that led to her being sex trafficked as a minor by the convicted sex offender and his accomplice and wrote of the fear she endured for years.

Across nearly 400 pages, Giuffre recounted how what began as a promise of opportunity turned into captivity. She wrote that later she would come to realize that “step by practiced step,” Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell “broke down” her defenses.

“Every time I felt a twinge of discomfort, one glance at Maxwell told me I was overreacting,” she wrote.

PRINCE ANDREW HUMILIATED AGAIN AS VIRGINIA GIUFFRE BOOK REVIVES SWEATY EXCUSE, BRANDED MORALLY BLIND: EXPERTS

Following her introduction into Epstein’s world, Giuffre said that she was a “daily presence” at El Brillo Way, the financier’s Palm Beach mansion. She shared that Epstein “liked to watch women together.”

“Little by little, I was welcomed into the sorority of Epstein’s girls,” she wrote.

Giuffre, who was working at Mar-a-Lago when she was recruited, said that Epstein encouraged her to quit her job to work full-time for him, but warned that she would be “at his beck and call, day and night. No exceptions.”

“When he said, ‘Jump!’ my response would have to be, “How high?”

Giuffre said that through becoming financially indebted to Epstein, she became trapped in servitude. She described that she was initially hesitant to agree to work full-time for Epstein, but received a threat about her younger brother, Sky Roberts Jr.

“We know where your brother goes to school,” Epstein allegedly told her. “You must never tell a soul what goes on in this house.”

Giuffre revealed that as her relationship with Epstein and Maxwell grew, she said that she had “unlocked” Epstein into confiding in her. In her memoir she wrote that he showed her a hidden doorway next to “some paintings of naked people stretching.”

She said that she saw the convicted sex offender’s “trophy closet,” a closet with floor-to-ceiling photos of young girls.

“All of the girls were naked, many of them quite obviously underage, and the images were raunchy, not demure,” Giuffre recalled in her memoir. “A stack of shoe-boxes in the corner held the overflow. He had so many photos that he’d run out of display space.”

She said that when Epstein allegedly showed her his closet, she said he didn’t speak, but the smug look on his face said, “Look at my conquests. Look at how powerful I am.”

PRINCE ANDREW ACCUSER VIRGINIA GIUFFRE FEARED SHE WOULD ‘DIE A SEX SLAVE’ IN JEFFREY EPSTEIN TRAFFICKING RING

Giuffre delved into the elite exploitation of Epstein’s world, sharing that she would be at Epstein’s various residences all day.

“Some days, the call would come in the morning. I’d show up, perform whatever sex acts Epstein wanted, then hang out beside his vast swimming pool while he got some work done. After a few hours, I’d usually be summoned to have sex with him again,” she wrote.

“If Maxwell was there, I was often told to attend to her sexually as well. She kept a bin of vibrators and sex toys handy for these sessions. But she never demanded sex from me one-on-one — only when we were with Epstein. Sometimes there were other girls there, too, and I’d end up staying at El Brillo Way all day.”

She said that Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for helping lure teenage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein, was “proud” of her friendships with famous people.

Giuffre wrote that Maxwell “loved to talk about how easily she could get former president Bill Clinton on the phone,” though Clinton has denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.

Epstein was found dead in his New York jail cell weeks after his 2019 arrest. The American financier was awaiting trial on U.S. federal sex-trafficking charges involving dozens of teenage girls and young women, some as young as 14. Investigators ruled his death a suicide.

Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for helping lure teenage girls to be sexually abused by him. She is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

A Florida Uber Eats driver is facing child neglect charges after his young, nonverbal son with autism was found wandering naked on a busy interstate entrance ramp.

Jeremy Rouse, 35, allegedly admitted to police that he realized his son was no longer in the car with him, but he continued his Uber Eats delivery route on Thursday to maintain a good rating, according to FOX 35 Orlando.

The child, whose age has not been released publicly, was rescued by two bystanders before he could enter Interstate 4’s busy traffic lanes in Altamonte Springs.

“I was running pretty fast,” rescuer Jamie Cabell told the local TV station. “Anything could’ve happened in a matter of seconds because cars were zooming by.”

A Florida man’s response to a neighborhood game of ding-dong ditch has reportedly landed him behind bars after police say he pointed a gun at a teenage prankster.

The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Oct. 16, when homeowner Santiago Cairo, 40, noticed a group of people at the front door of his Boca Raton house and believed they were attempting to break in, according to WPTV.

Cairo reportedly called 911 before arming himself with a gun and confronting a 14-year-old outside his home.

According to arrest records obtained by WPTV, Cairo told authorities he did not aim his gun at the teenager, and instead kept it at a “low ready position” as he waited for authorities to arrive.

However, the young prankster alleges Cairo acted more violently than originally believed.

While the teen admitted to ding-dong ditching Cairo’s home, he told investigators that Cairo confronted him holding a flashlight and a gun, yelling, “You messed with the wrong guy,” WPTV reported.

The teen said Cairo then ordered him to get down on his knees, and at one point grabbed his shoulder in an attempt to push him to the ground – ultimately leaving him feeling threatened, according to WPTV.

Investigators later determined the young prankster never attempted to break into Cairo’s home, with Cairo admitting to police that he “went too far” when responding to the situation.

”All I can say is that Mr. Cairo never in fact pointed his firearm at anyone or put his hands on anyone,” Cairo’s attorney told WPTV.

Cairo’s attorney did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Cairo was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, the outlet reported. He was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.

However, his neighbor, Mary Elizabeth Hall, reportedly expressed her support for Cairo while adding that she felt disappointed how the events unfolded.

“I witnessed the mother drive away with her children in the back,” Hall told WPTV. “While my neighbor, Santiago, was sitting handcuffed in the back of the car.”

Hall added that their South Florida neighborhood has seen an influx in car break-ins, while defending her neighbor’s actions.

“I question if it was a prank, or if they were trying to steal something,” Hall said, according to WPTV. “My neighbor did the right thing, and the outcome was not the right thing.”

Hall is set to appear in front of a judge next month.

“I hope the outcome is that the young man learns a very serious lesson,” Hall added. “And that my neighbor, Santiago, his name is cleared.”

An illegal alien truck driver accused of causing a crash in Florida that killed three people failed his commercial driver’s license (CDL) test 10 times in two months before finally receiving a license in 2023 in Washington state, Fox News learned from a senior official with the Florida Attorney General’s Office.

Harjinder Singh allegedly crossed the southern border illegally in 2018 and is accused of causing an August crash in Fort Pierce, Florida, that killed three people.

Investigators with the Florida AG’s office learned Singh failed his CDL knowledge exam in Washington state 10 times between March 10, 2023, and May 5, 2023. They also learned he failed his air brakes knowledge exam twice.

The Washington company that trained Singh for his CDL attested that he could speak English, even though he struggled to speak it proficiently, the senior official said. Still, Washington issued Singh his first CDL, and California later granted him another.

Bodycam footage released in August shows Singh struggling with limited English after being pulled over for speeding in New Mexico a month earlier, a detail that has become a major focal point in the case.

The footage shows Singh being stopped by a New Mexico State Police officer July 3 for allegedly driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Singh appeared apologetic as he received a ticket. He communicated clearly at first, but after signing paperwork and preparing to leave, the officer struggled to understand him.

Officials investigating the wreck in Florida said Singh failed English and road sign tests. He’s accused of jackknifing his 18-wheeler during an illegal U-turn, causing a van to smash into the side of the semi, leaving three people dead.

Last week, the Florida AG’s office sued California and Washington in a Supreme Court filing to prevent both states from issuing CDLs to illegal immigrants. The lawsuit accuses the states of failing to comply with federal safety and immigration status requirements.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Oct. 15 that many big rig drivers fail to meet English language requirement, a problem his department is now targeting.

“I put states on notice this summer: Enforce the Trump Administration’s English language requirements or the checks stop coming,” Duffy said. “California is the only state in the nation that refuses to ensure big rig drivers can read our road signs and communicate with law enforcement. This is a fundamental safety issue that impacts you and your family on America’s road.”

The announcement followed the Trump administration’s decision to withhold more than $40 million in federal highway safety funds from California for failing to enforce federal English proficiency standards for truckers.

One Florida state representative is looking to expand the state’s crackdown on migrant crime with a bill that would fine police for refusing to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and allow families to sue government entities that “dropped the ball” over crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

The Shane Jones Act, named in honor of an Air Force veteran and father of four killed outside Tampa in a 2019 motorcycle crash involving an intoxicated illegal immigrant driving without a license, was proposed on Monday to give “teeth” to existing immigration policy.

“It’s a great idea because it sends the message that we will not tolerate our local law enforcement or local governments not cooperating with immigration officials when they don’t enforce immigration laws,” said State Rep. Berny Jacques Thursday on “Fox & Friends First.”

Jacques, a Republican who introduced the bill, explained that victims would be suing the government entity that “failed to enforce” immigration laws.

He also said the Sunshine State has been leading on the issue.

“We’ve been telling folks that this is not a sanctuary state, and we’re not just telling folks, we’ve put that into law, so this puts teeth into that law to make sure that no agency of the state, no political subdivision, would violate that,” he added.

Nikki Jones, the widow of Shane Jones, joined the program on Thursday to discuss the bill and how losing her husband has devastated her family.

“Now, I’m a single mom, and trying to hold a house down and nobody holding accountability was extremely hard,” she said.

“He [the illegal immigrant] had contact with law enforcement three times prior; ICE was never involved, and he just kept getting let out on our soil to continue to commit traffic violation crimes.”

Nikki said, if she had been able to sue at the time of her husband’s death, the compensation would have helped.

“My biggest fear, in the long run, is losing my home, mine and my girls, and we should not be living in that fear over a crime that was absolutely 100% preventable,” she said.

Jacques said proceeds from the “very strong fine” for failing to enforce immigration laws would go toward compensating victims of migrant crime.

According to a New York Post report, that fine would be $10,000.

“We hope this is a strong deterrent because it’s not going to be an easy path when you have grieving widows, grieving mothers,” Jacques said.

“There are a lot of folks who’ve lost their loved ones from illegal aliens… and it is 100% preventable when you knew these people were here, and you engage in catch and release. We don’t have that in Florida, but we want to make sure that we strengthen that in our laws if ever there is an official that thinks they can violate the law.”
