Former Biden White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wouldn’t directly say if Joe Biden should be president right now during an interview on CNN, arguing with an anchor about why she wouldn’t read the bestselling book about a cover-up of his decline in office.

“Do you think he should be president right now?” Keilar asked. “Do you think that he is capable right now of being president? Because that was what you were advocating for, someone who would be president in his current state until 2029?”

“I did not see anything that concerned me when he decided to run for president. I did not,” Jean-Pierre said. “This is someone that I saw every single day. Again, he was on top of the policies. He was sharp. He was someone that cared about what the outcome of the issues that were in front of the American people and what we were doing. I‘m speaking from my own personal opinion. I‘m speaking from what I saw on a day-to-day basis.”

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE INSISTS TO SKEPTICAL CBS ANCHORS THAT BIDEN WAS TREATED UNFAIRLY, ALWAYS SEEMED SHARP

Jean-Pierre is promoting a new book, “Independent,” about her break from the Democrats. She vents in the book that her boss was treated cruelly by his party when they pushed him out of the White House race.

Keilar’s colleague Jake Tapper co-authored the bombshell book “Original Sin” this year that laid out, in painful detail, numerous anecdotes of Biden’s mental decline behind the scenes and his inner circle covering it up.

“I can’t speak to sources,” Jean-Pierre said Friday. “I can’t speak to a book I actually haven’t read.”

Keilar was incredulous.

“You say you haven‘t read it, and you don‘t plan to read it,” Keilar said. “I mean, why not? I mean, if most people, a lot of people, if the leadership of their workplace imploded and someone wrote a book with 200 sources, many of them good, they would want to read it. They‘d want to reflect on that. Why not?”

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE HAS ROCKY ROLLOUT FOR BOOK AS INTERVIEWERS AND REVIEWS PAN BIDEN DEFENSE, PLATITUDES

Jean-Pierre has repeatedly insisted she had no concerns about Biden’s mental faculties, and she reiterated that on CNN. Biden eventually left the race last year and was replaced by Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket, who went on to lose to President Donald Trump.

Jean-Pierre is harshly critical of Democrats for not doing enough for Harris, in addition to what she considers a betrayal of Biden.

Jean-Pierre’s interviewers this week have pointed out the numerous sources who said Biden had clearly declined during his presidency, forgetting people he’d known for years and appearing lost and confused both behind the scenes and in public.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE SAYS BIDEN HEALTH TALKING POINTS WERE TIGHTLY CONTROLLED AT SENIOR LEVEL

Jean-Pierre pivoting to criticizing the Trump administration during the CNN interview, saying she wanted to talk about being in an “unprecedented situation.”

“These are dangerous times, and so I‘m asking, like millions of other Americans, for the Democratic Party to meet the moment,” she said. “I‘m trying to create a conversation.”

“We talk about it every day on the show about this moment that we are in and the things we see happening every day,” Keilar replied. “We would be remiss if we didn‘t talk about how we got to this moment. That is certainly essential.”

The president of the Young Democrats at University of Texas at Tyler (UT-Tyler) initiated the idea to collaborate with Turning Point USA for an event with hopes of fostering bipartisanship in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

“I essentially suggested the idea that we do some sort of event or debate. And this was right after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, so I also thought it would breed some level of bipartisanship and maybe stop us from being so polarized,” Marcus Emmanuel, a first-year student political science major, told Fox News Digital.

“We’ve been talking with the Young Democrats on our campus, and they’ve been very open to having a debate, which is very exciting. They’ve been really looking forward to working with us,” Reese Cooper, president of UT-Tyler’s TPUSA chapter, told Fox News Digital.

SHOCK AND RESOLVE: STUDENTS REFLECT ON CHARLIE KIRK’S DEATH, FUTURE OF CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT

The president of the Young Democrats at University of Texas at Tyler (UT-Tyler) initiated the idea to collaborate with Turning Point USA for an event with hopes of fostering bipartisanship in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Kirk was killed while speaking on the campus of Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

Kirk built a following by touring the country to debate college students on culture-war issues such as gender ideology, racial divisions and the merits of Christian and American values in general.

He left behind a wife, Erika, and two young children. Ever since his death, Turning Point USA — the organization he founded — has beencatapulted into prominence and received overwhelming support.

Emmanuel said TPUSA should not be legitimized and hopes to persuade people to join their side after the debate.

“I kind of just want to reference it by saying that the goal isn’t to legitimize what TPUSA stands for. But rather, it’s more of an acknowledgment that the faction in society that agrees with the ideology is too large to isolate or ignore,” he added.

YEARS OF CAMPUS ATTACKS ON CONSERVATIVE ACTIVISTS RESURFACE AFTER CHARLIE KIRK’S MURDER

He continued, “The only way in which you can combat it is by engaging in dialogue with them. So my goal for the debate is to go about discrediting the message through facts and logic.”

Emmanuel said the vice president of the TPUSA chapter at UT-Tyler,Jonathan Roncancio, is in his general friend group. They had a conversation in the library about the TPUSA chapter recently being launched on campus.

“Our hope with Turning Point is to just educate and activate people, as well as create a community on the college campus,” Roncancio told Fox News Digital.

He added, “Our goal is to create a conservative community where people can come and discuss ideas. We really just want to make a free market of ideas that people can use and debate anything that they want to debate. We don’t want to just welcome one idea. Our goal was to create discussion and debate and just host good discussions.”

Emmanuel said that the date of the event is tentative, though expected to occur some time in November.

“I thought that the temperature was way too high, so I wanted to kind of use it as an opportunity to also turn down the temperature and for both sides to realize that the other side is human, even if there’s disagreements between us,” Emmanuel said.

“I don’t think the president of the United States is doing an effective job at kind of turning down the temperature or telling both sides to turn down the temperatures,” he said.

Savanah Hernandez faced racist remarks while reporting at the “No Kings” protest in New York City on Saturday.

Hernandez, a field reporter for Turning Point USA’s Frontlines and a contributor to the organization, spoke exclusively with Fox News Digital about the experience. She described being targeted with racial comments from what she characterized as a predominantly older White crowd while covering the protest.

Hernandez has been covering protests like this one for several years.

“I have been covering on the ground protests, riots, the illegal immigration crisis, basically every story that the mainstream media refuses to touch for the last six or seven years now,” Hernandez said.

POLICE SWIFTLY REMOVE ANTI-ICE PROTESTERS WHO INVADED TRUMP TOWER AS NATIONWIDE DEMONSTRATIONS INTENSIFY

At this protest, Hernandez said she experienced racist remarks.

When she was trying to “rationalize” with an older White male protester who made the claim that Charlie Kirk was “this horrible racist antisemite,” she shared what happened next.

“I tried to, you know, rationalize with him and say, ‘hey, I’m an Asian-Hispanic woman. Charlie has hired me to represent his organization. How does that make him a racist?’ He then called me a token and said that everybody needs one, apparently.” Then the protester went on to call everyone associated with Turning Point a “fascist,” according to Hernandez.

She described that rhetoric as “very normalized” throughout the protest.

“It’s hilarious because the same exact people that are screaming that the right wing are racist are the same ones that are consistently telling me that I’m brown, that I, you know, shouldn’t think the way that I do, that my politics are wrong, and that I’m gonna get deported,” she said. “It didn’t bother me because it’s something that I’m used to hearing from the left wing. I have gone to protests outside of ICE facilities, and I am constantly told that I am going to be deported and that I am next.”

Reporter says she's never seen a protest dissipate so fast as 'No Kings' Day Video

Hernandez said she has never feared ICE or the police because she follows the law, just like other law-abiding citizens who have no reason to be afraid of law enforcement. However, she often hears people tell her that she’ll be deported, that she’s just a token, or that she wants to be White.

Hernandez added that she isn’t a fan of the labels.

“I don’t even like the label of I’m a Hispanic Asian woman myself. Like I said, I brought that up to this individual because he himself thinks that Charlie is some White supremacist racist, and to give him a real world example, you know, I’m a living one.”

Hernandez pointed out the demographics she witnessed at the NYC protest.

“Primarily older and whiter, I would say, which is very interesting. And it usually is these people who are the most outspoken. We are seeing a lot of the older generation really come out to these protests specifically.”

Hernandez said that she is “not afraid” and will continue to do her work.

“I’m not afraid of these people. I think they are very radicalized, but I also think that we need people that are willing to go in the street and tell the truth. So you know, whatever happens, so be it,” she said.

A Harvard University resident dean made a series of inflammatory social media posts over several years before his appointment, attacking police, White people and conservatives, in addition to defending threats against President Donald Trump, according to a new report.

The posts, unearthed by Yard Report and featured inThe Harvard Salient, a student-run conservative journal, showed Gregory Davis, the Allston Burr resident dean at Harvard, repeatedly making comments critical of White people and law enforcement while defending rioting and looting.

Davis, who was previously a resident tutor and became a dean in 2024 according to his LinkedIn profile, posted onX in 2019, “It’s almost like Whiteness is a self-destructive ideology that annihilates everyone around it. By design.”

In his role as Dunster House Allston Burr resident dean, Davis serves as a primary liaison for students seeking academic and wellness support.

In 2020, Davis wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “You should ask your cop friends to resign since they’re racist and evil,” according to screenshots from the Sailent.

Another post from 2020 read, “Something to keep in mind: rioting and looting are parts of democracy just like voting and marching. The people WILL be heard.”

At the time Trump was diagnosed with COVID-19 in 2020, he wrote he didn’t blame “people wishing Trump ill.” He later wrote “f— that guy” and posted a Rocky IV gif of Ivan Drago saying, “If he dies, he dies.”

A 2021 X post read, “Rush Limbaugh is dead. Just as important: the Smucker’s Natural was on sale at Safeway.”

An Instagram post from June 8, 2024, just weeks beforeDavis said he assumed his role as dean in July 2024, read, “Wishing everyone a great Pride. Remember to love each other and hate the police.”

On his official Harvard bio page, Davis describes himself as “a Black, queer, neurodivergent (ADHD), first-generation, public school graduate from Detroit.”

PROFESSOR SLAMMED FOR ‘DESPICABLE BEHAVIOR’ WITH CONTROVERSIAL REPOSTS ON CHARLIE KIRK

He received his master’s degree in psychology from Harvard in 2016 and a doctorate in philosophy and African American/Black studies in 2020.

Davis began his new role as a resident dean in July 2024.

In an email shared with Fox News Digital and signed by Shirley and Taeku Lee, a married couple who are Dunster House faculty deans, the deans wrote, “We are writing to share a letter with you from our Resident Dean Gregory Davis about some recent reporting from campus media. As you know, Dean Davis has been on leave for the semester, and as such, we are sharing this message with you on his behalf.”

They added that they want “to reaffirm that Dunster House is a community that welcomes all members. That continues to be our commitment to our students. If you have any questions or comments regarding Gregory’s letter, please do not hesitate to reach out to the two of us, to our Interim Resident Dean Emilie Raymer, or a tutor you feel comfortable reaching out to. As your faculty deans, our door is always open.”

In another email shared by Harvard with Fox News Digital, Davis wrote, “Recently, some media organizations have inquired regarding comments that I made on my personal social media accounts prior to my start in the Resident Dean role. These posts do not reflect my current thinking or beliefs. I deeply appreciate the responsibility inherent in the Resident Dean role and I value the trust that individuals have placed in me. I regret if my statements have any negative impact on the Dunster community.”

Davis added, “Since becoming the Allston Burr Resident Dean, I have worked hard to ensure that Dunster House is a welcoming, warm and supportive space for all of its members. That continues to be the guiding force of my work today. As events outside of Harvard have affected our House and me personally, my commitment to each of you, our students, has not wavered. In my role, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work collaboratively with members of HUPD and other colleagues across campus. I respect the work they do to support our community.”

Former first son Hunter Biden said Monday he was deeply “disappointed” by former Vice President Kamala Harris’ new campaign memoir.

Biden told journalist Tommy Christopher on his Substack platform that while he had not read Harris’ book, he’s been hurt by the things he’s heard coming from it – feeling she had betrayed a sense of loyalty to former President Joe Biden.

“I don’t know, I’d have to admit, it’s personally painful,” Biden said. “I just think that people like particularly the vice president is that–I guess my… Personally, you know, sense of loyalty.”

He continued, “Is it for her to, in a book, to try to distance herself and take the– what I would call the really easy path to distance herself. To–what I guess she thinks. I think that the biggest complaint about the vice president has always been is that, which I never believe, and I really mean it, is that she is not authentic.”

He accused Harris of trying to “play both sides” with her memoir, such as her retroactively suggesting that she should have encouraged the former president to drop out of the race sooner.

“[Joe Biden] chose her out of loyalty and I just don’t understand, I guess I don’t understand why someone would choose the expedient path as it relates to that relationship, their own political expediency,” Biden said.

Despite his frustrations, Biden said Harris had an “incredible résumé” and that he would have “gladly” voted for her for president in a different race.

Democratic Party members and liberal media outlets have a history of using violent rhetoric or imagery against political opponents that dates back more than a decade.

Texas Democratic House candidate Rep. Jolanda Jones became the latest example on Wednesday after making a throat-slashing gesture while rejecting former first lady Michelle Obama’s famous mantra, “when they go low, we go high,” on CNN’s “Outfront.”

“If you hit me in my face, I’m not going to punch you back in your face. I’m going to go across your neck,” Jones said while making a slashing motion across her neck.

“We can go back-and-forth, fighting each other’s faces. You’ve got to hit hard enough where they won’t come back,” she continued.

SELECTIVE OUTRAGE: TRUMP, DEMOCRATS MAINLY DENOUNCE THE OTHER SIDE’S SCANDALS

State Rep. Jolanda Jones was the latest Democrat to use violent rhetoric and imagery to attack political opponents. (Brett Coomer/Houston Chronicle via Getty Images)

Jones’ campaign said she was not speaking literally when reached for comment by Fox News Digital.

Jones’ comments came on the heels of reports that Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner and Virginia attorney general candidate Jay Jones, both Democrats, had written violent messages in the past, including calls for the death of a Republican politician.

Elected Democratic officials have also been guilty of using controversial language when attacking their opponents. In 2018, California Rep. Maxine Waters encouraged supporters at a rally to confront members of the Trump administration and “push back” on them.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.

DEMOCRATS HAVE REPEATEDLY USED VIOLENT RHETORIC AGAINST FORMER PRESIDENT: ‘TIME TO PUT TRUMP IN A BULLSEYE’

In 2020, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., warned Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they would “pay the price” for hearing an abortion-related case.

In 2023, New York Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., warned that then-candidate Donald Trump was “destructive to our democracy” and needed to be “eliminated.” However, he quickly apologized for his comments, claiming that it was a “poor choice of words.”

Even former President Joe Biden has used heated language against Trump during his time in office, telling donors during a call in 2024 that it was “time to put Trump in the bulls-eye.” This was after repeatedly claiming Trump was a “threat to democracy.”

GOP CONGRESSMAN CLASHES WITH CNN HOST, TELLS NETWORK TO ‘LOOK WITHIN’ OVER HEATED POLITICAL RHETORIC

Outside the political sphere, mainstream media commentators have made controversial comments that appeared to encourage violence.

In 2013, MSNBC anchor Martin Bashir called former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin an “idiot” and “dunce” and told viewers that someone should defecate in Palin’s mouth, invoking an old slave punishment in response to a speech where Palin compared the national debt to slavery. Bashir stepped down from his position weeks later.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace once asked how reporters restrained themselves from wringing Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ neck in 2018. (Nathan Congleton/NBCU Photo Bank/NBCUniversal via Getty Images)

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace suggested that media reporters were tempted to “wring” the neck of then-press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in 2018.

CHARLIE KIRK PAINTED AS ‘CONTROVERSIAL,’ ‘PROVOCATIVE’ IN MEDIA’S ASSASSINATION COVERAGE

“How do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck? Why can’t she just say, ‘If a staffer said that, we’re going to get to the bottom of it and she’ll be fired?'” Wallace asked on air.

The violent rhetoric extended into Hollywood with several anti-Trump celebrities appearing to advocate for violence against the president.

During the Women’s March in 2017, singer and actress Madonna remarked that she had thought “an awful lot about blowing up the White House.” She later defended her comments, claiming they were “taken wildly out of context” and that she really wanted to effect change “with love.”

That same year, actor Johnny Depp joked at a music festival, “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” before adding, “Maybe it’s time.” He later apologized for his comments, insisting that only meant to “amuse” not harm.

Most notably, comedian Kathy Griffin got attention in 2017 by posting an image of herself holding a realistic replica of Trump’s severed head covered in fake blood. She was later investigated by the Secret Service but has stood by the image as her First Amendment right.

Comedian Michael Rapaport ripped New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for eating at an expensive sushi restaurant, claiming his “working class” persona is fake.

“How’s a so-called ‘working class’ mayoral candidate like Zohran Mamdani eating at OMEN SUSHI tonight — one of the priciest joints in NYC,” Rapaport asked in a Tuesday X post.

“This clown lives in a rent-stabilized apartment in Queens but dines like a diplomat on a Qatar-funded per diem. Who’s paying for that toro, ‘Zoron the Moron,” Rapaport added. “You ain’t working class — you’re fraud class. #ZohranMamdani #ZoronTheMoron.”

Mamdani, the 34-year-old state assembly member from Queens who was born in Uganda, has called for freezing rent prices for millions, free public transit, government-owned grocery stores, and free universal childcare for children from ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

Another X post from “Stop Antisemitism” which Rapaport reposted, read, “Fun fact: 12 pieces of sushi are $50 at Omen… Mamdani is a typical ‘money for me, not for thee’ parasitic socialist.”

On Wednesday, Rapaport replied to a post by an X user who appeared to take issue with Rapaport’s criticism of Mamdani and shared what appeared to be part of a menu selection from Omen Sushi and wrote, “This offends you — but a mayoral candidate of NYC declaring there’s a genocide going on with 0.0 evidence, refusing to condemn ‘Globalize the Intifada,’ and stacking up dozens of false promises doesn’t offend you?!”

Police at the University of New Mexico (UNM) arrested a man who allegedly tried to steal Turning Point USA signs during a campus tabling event and said that “Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason,” referring to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

A post Thursday from Frontlines TPUSA, the official “on-the-ground national coverage” account for Turning Point USA, shared a video of the incident on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “WATCH: ‘Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason.’ University of New Mexico police arrested a student who attempted to steal signs from a Turning Point USA student tabling event. The student resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody.”

In the video of the incident, a masked man argues with people at the Turning Point USA table, objecting to their buttons about criticizing socialism. At one point, when invited to debate his views, the man said, “You’re doing the Kirk bulls—. Kirk got shot in the neck for a reason.”

“Whoa,” a woman replied. “That’s not cool at all. Charlie was a father and a husband.”

WARNING: Graphic language:

“So are a lot of socialists,” he replied.

The man added that Kirk promoted violence before taking the Turning Point USA signs. The Turning Point USA video is edited, so it’s not clear what transpired before he is seen being arrested by campus police.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Ben Cloutier, executive director of strategic communications for the University of New Mexico, said, “The University of New Mexico is firmly committed to the principles of free speech and values its role as a public square for debate, a marketplace of ideas, and a place to test and challenge competing viewpoints and opinions.”

Cloutier added that the university “remains dedicated to protecting constitutionally protected expression while ensuring the safety of our campus community.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the University of New Mexico Turning Point USA chapter and the University of New Mexico Police for comment.

A memorial for Kirk was held on Sept. 13 on the university’s campus.

The 31-year-old co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback Tour.

Since Kirk’s death, requests for new TPUSA chapters have surged nationwide.

According to the organization, more than 120,000 students have inquired about launching new high school and college chapters in the weeks since Kirk’s assassination.

Renovations in large public buildings are not exactly unusual. Even at the White House, renovations are common. But the national media despise President Donald Trump so deeply that they’ll turn anything he does into a scandal. This week, it’s building a new ballroom at The White House with private donations.

The president originally said the East Wing would remain intact, but it came down this week, which led to an outpouring of angst. First came the “optics” of this. CBS reporter Weijia Jiang relayed, “Some Democrats have criticized President Trump for focusing on a new ballroom while the government remains shut down.” That’s shameless, since it’s the Democrats who refuse to end the shutdown.

ABC’s Mary Bruce, who routinely cheer-led President Joe Biden’s time at the White House, also brought the “growing controversy” chatter and found Republicans for the optics argument: “Some Republicans tonight [are] now questioning the optics of this, especially during the shutdown.” She located just one: outgoing North Carolina Republican Sen. Thom Tillis.

Then Bruce added, “former First Lady Hillary Clinton saying to the American people, ‘it’s not his house, it’s your house and he’s destroying it.’” Her daughter Chelsea Clinton penned an op-ed for USA Today with the same “people’s house” theme.

FETTERMAN DEFENDS TRUMP’S ‘TASTEFUL’ $200M WHITE HOUSE BALLROOM MAKEOVER AMID DEM CRITICISM

This is rich, considering the Clintons sold overnight stays in the Lincoln Bedroom to top donors and President Bill Clinton turned the White House into an intern sex den. It’s also rich considering the Clintons were caught trying to steal $28,000 worth of donated furniture as they vacated the house in 2001. Guess what? The Washington Post broke the story, but the broadcast networks didn’t want to repeat it.

Imagine the Reagans trying to make off with donated furniture? Imperious Nancy never would have heard the end of it. But the Clintons were let off the hook. ABC reported nothing on air. On CBS, Dan Rather gave it 19 seconds. NBC offered a full story in the evening after the Post, but by the next morning, “Today” co-host Matt Lauer was calling the whole thing off: “Is this a big deal, or are we in the middle of Pick On The Clintons Month?” Newsweek’s Howard Fineman helpfully replied, “Well, it’s always Pick On The Clintons Month.”

Anyone who watches these Clinton-coddling networks and their incessantly hyper-negative coverage of the Trumps can only roll their eyes.

DAVID MARCUS: TRUMP’S BALLROOM IS NO VANITY PROJECT, IT’S ABOUT AMERICAN GRANDEUR

Even on the ballroom story, NBC trotted out Connecticut Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal to throw the tyranny card: “It’s his personal whim and it is sort of emblematic of the authoritarian, tyrannical approach that this president takes to power.”

It’s privately funded, so it needs no congressional approval. The liberals can’t stop it from happening. So, somehow, it’s a power grab to build a grand new ballroom for future presidents to enjoy. At least NBC News shows had to disclose that their owner Comcast is a donor to the renovation, which will be for all future presidents.

Unsurprisingly, the unanimous Trump-haters at ABC’s “The View” offered nothing but cauldrons of spite. Sunny Hostin couldn’t stop calling the ballroom plans “tacky and gaudy,” and Whoopi Goldberg falsely said, “your taxes are probably going to be paying for that ballroom.” Joy Behar said this demolition proved Trump was a “one-man wrecking ball” and bungled into calling him an “annihilist.” He “annihilates.”

They really hated Trump asking for millions of dollars of reimbursement from the Justice Department over all the investigations of him, leading Hostin to uncork the conspiracy that he was never leaving the White House: “If he gets this $230 million, it’s going to be used to renovate a White House which he never intends to leave!”

The late-night comedians performed their usual leftist rituals. Outgoing CBS host Stephen Colbert cracked: “As of this morning, the East Wing looks like a rotisserie chicken your dog got into.” He called it a “ball-doggle” funded by “groveling corporations like Amazon, Apple, Comcast, Google, Microsoft, T-Mobile, Meta Platforms and Hard Rock International.”

Gutfeld on the Trump ballroom outrage: ‘Nixon put in a bowling alley, Biden put in a chairlift’ Video

Previous renovations under Democrats were not controversial. On September 10, 2010, CNN aired a cheery story from anchor Suzanne Malveaux about all “the banging, the jack-hammering, the dust” from a taxpayer-funded $375 million renovation. They said Congress approved funding in 2008, and no one went looking for politicians to cry “authoritarian.”

Back in 1962, CBS and NBC aired a prime-time special promoting First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy offering a tour of the White House under renovation. ABC ran it four days later. They were all engaged in “Camelot” myth-making, creating “cultural icon” Jackie while JFK was besmirching the White House with extramarital affairs.

If the White House is “the people’s house,” then why would the people object to a glamorous ballroom that can accommodate large gatherings, especially important foreign dignitaries? It’s only an outrage because it’s Trump’s project.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., reminded liberals Wednesday of how many of them wanted historical artifacts destroyed when he was asked about President Donald Trump tearing down the East Wing of the White House.

CNN reporter Manu Raju pressed Hawley on Trump tearing down a portion of the White House complex this week to begin construction on a new ballroom for the building. The reporter suggested Trump was demolishing a precious historical edifice in the process.

Hawley replied that the far left has supported the destruction of statues of U.S. historical figures in recent years.

“I made this point yesterday, that I hear all of a sudden from my liberal friends that they’re very concerned about our history. Really? These are the same people who tore down every statue they could get their hands on in the last four years,” the lawmaker said.

HILLARY CLINTON FIRES UP VOTERS AGAINST TRUMP’S WHITE HOUSE BALLROOM CONSTRUCTION: ‘NOT HIS HOUSE”

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., recently slammed liberals who have criticized Trump’s demolition of the White House’s East Wing as him destroying history, noting they supported the destruction of statues and other historical artifacts in 2020.  (Samuel Corum/Getty)

Construction crews began demolition work on the East Wing facade Monday as part of the planned ballroom project. Historic preservation groups, some lawmakers and social media users voiced immediate criticism after seeing images of the demolition.

The White House did issue a statement defending the demolition, saying the new ballroom is a privately funded addition meant to “echo the storied history of improvements and additions by presidents to the executive residence.” The statement called criticism “unhinged” and accused media outlets of overreacting.

On the topic of the building’s significance, Raju asked Hawley, “What about just uprooting the — you know — this is an iconic building?”

Hawley said he was not troubled by the demolition and argued that critics on the left lacked credibility, pointing to past efforts to remove monuments of U.S. historical figures amid racial justice protests.

He pointed to how the riots sprung from the George Floyd protests in 2020 defaced and destroyed monuments to the United States’ historical figures.

“Christopher Columbus, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt. They didn’t have any concern for history then. Now, all of a sudden, they’re like, ‘Oh, the facade of the East Wing is iconic,'” Hawley said. “Oh, give me a break. I mean, give me a break.”
