]]>The letter, addressed to Gov. Gavin Newsom; state Attorney General Rob Bonta; Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; and San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, stressed that federal agents and officers are carrying out lawful duties, and any interference by state or local officials is both “illegal and futile.”
The letter was sent after Pelosi, the former House Speaker, and Rep. Kevin Mullin, D-Calif., issued a statement Wednesday threatening to arrest federal agents if they break California law.
If convicted, the Democrats noted, President Donald Trump cannot pardon agents.

“Reports of a planned mass immigration raid in the Bay Area are an appalling abuse of law enforcement power,” Pelosi and Mullin wrote in the statement. “While the President may enjoy absolute immunity courtesy of his rogue Supreme Court, those who operate under his orders do not. … The people of San Francisco will continue to stand with the patriotic immigrants who are the constant reinvigoration of America.”
Blanche shared his response in an X post, writing, “We just sent them a letter: Stand down or face prosecution. No one threatens our agents. No one will stop us from Making America Safe Again.”

The letter cites several federal statutes that criminalize assaulting, impeding or conspiring against federal officers, and notes the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution dictates state officials cannot prosecute federal agents for actions taken in the course of their duties.
Blanche directed California leaders to “preserve all written and electronic communications and records related to any attempts or efforts to impede or obstruct federal law enforcement officials,” forewarning that the Department of Justice will investigate and prosecute any official who violates federal statutes.

]]>Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that during a targeted enforcement stop on Tuesday, 44-year-old Mexican illegal immigrant Carlitos Ricardo Parias “weaponized his vehicle and began ramming the law enforcement vehicle in an attempt to flee.”
“Fearing for the safety of the public and law enforcement,” McLaughlin said, “Our officers followed their training and fired defensive shots.”
Parias was shot in the elbow, and a U.S. Marshals Service officer was hit in the hand by a ricochet bullet. She said that both were stable and were transported to the nearest hospital to undergo non-life-threatening surgery.

Los Angeles local outlet ABC 7 reported that Parias is a well-known TikTok influencer who regularly follows ICE agents and goes by the moniker “Richard LA.” The outlet also reported that crowds gathered outside the hospital to protest the arrest as well as ICE.
According to McLaughlin, officers had previously encountered Parias, but he had escaped arrest. She said that he entered the country illegally at an unknown date and location and that he has a history of driving without a license, failing to prove financial responsibility, vehicle code violations and resisting arrest.
Now, DHS is pursuing criminal charges against Parias for assaulting, resisting or impeding federal law enforcement.
McLaughlin said that “these are the consequences of conduct and rhetoric by sanctuary politicians and activists who urge illegal aliens to resist arrest.”
“We are once again calling on sanctuary politicians, agitators, and the media to turn the temperature down and stop calling for violence and resistance against ICE law enforcement,” said McLaughlin.
She called out several Democrats who she said have held webinars to provide “resources and tips for how to openly defy ICE.” McLaughlin said that Democrats who have emboldened illegals to attempt to evade ICE include Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
TRUMP REVEALS HOW US MILITARY IS GOING TO CRACK DOWN ON DRUG SMUGGLERS ON LAND
A spokesperson for California Gov. Gavin Newsom shot back that it is “the federal government is unnecessarily endangering our law enforcement officers, who, even in this chaos, are trying to do their jobs lawfully and serve their communities.” (Mario Tama)
In response, a spokesperson for Newsom told Fox News Digital that “President Trump and [White House Homeland Security Advisor] Stephen Miller are trying to orchestrate the largest deportation effort in history, disregarding due process and even the safety of U.S. citizens and law enforcement.”
“These aggressive arrests are a PR campaign, using fear and force. They want to manufacture chaos, then blame others,” the spokesperson said, adding, “Trump is forcing the federal government to indiscriminately arrest U.S. citizens through racial profiling, vehicle ramming, and forced entry, then broadcasting these interactions online.”
The spokesperson flipped the script on the Trump administration, saying, “The federal government is unnecessarily endangering our law enforcement officers, who, even in this chaos, are trying to do their jobs lawfully and serve their communities. They are creating fear among hardworking families –our neighbors, colleagues, and friends – who now have a target on their backs because of this administration.”
“Immigration law can be enforced without a message ofterror,” the Newsom spokesperson said.
Fox News Digital also reached out to the offices of Ocasio-Cortez and Bass but did not immediately receive a response.

]]>The post Examining the next threat from Communist China: Our healthcare system appeared first on My Blog.
]]>In recent years, we have seen growing agreement among lawmakers that the CCP is actively working against the security of the U.S. Whether through coercive trade practices, espionage, military aggression or technology theft, the CCP is intent on undermining American strength.
President Donald Trump has rightly identified our nation’s increased dependence on Chinese companies as a clear threat to national security. In response, he has taken action to rebuild our domestic industrial manufacturing bases. This is especially true in critical security industries like defense, nuclear development, pharmaceutical manufacturing and data center infrastructure.

The Trump administration should now look at medical devices. This lesser-known threat to American privacy and security lurks within our hospitals, healthcare facilities and even in the homes of everyday Americans. Used to treat patients, monitor patient health and inform medical decisions made by healthcare professionals, medical devices are critical tools used in the everyday care of our most vulnerable members of society.
CHINA’S MALIGN INFLUENCE TOUCHES EVERY ASPECT OF US LIFE. WE ALL NEED TO HELP STOP THEM
It is no wonder, then, that medical devices made by Chinese companies not only have the potential to take advantage of that intimate access, but have already been shown to exploit those vulnerabilities to gain access to the personal, private data of American patients.
Just this month, it was reported that medical hardware from Shanghai-based United Imaging has been installed in some of the country’s top research labs. In some instances, these labs were even funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Not only has a United Imaging devicebeen usedat a Chinese military hospital, but United Imaging has alsoworked withthe state-runChinese Academy of Sciences. Andaccording to the FBI, the companywas allegedto have bribedemployees working at an NIH-funded lab to back-channel non-public information about their research. One researcher, a Chinese citizen, pleaded guilty to making false statements in financial disclosure forms to the NIH.
Video
Earlier this year, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning about a patient monitor made by Chinese-based company Contec, specifically calling attention to a software backdoor on the device that once connected to the internet “begins gathering patient data, including personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI), and exfiltrating (withdrawing) the data outside of the health care delivery environment.”
The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) followed up with its own report, saying that the backdoor enabled remote actors to engage in “remote code execution and device modification with the ability to alter its configuration.”
FIVE WAYS AMERICA CAN STOP A NEW COLD WAR WITH CHINA FROM TURNING HOT
Far from being an idle threat, CISA explained that this vulnerability in a machine that monitors and displays critical information like electrocardiograms and blood pressure could result in life-or-death consequences: “This introduces risk to patient safety as a malfunctioning monitor could lead to improper responses to vital signs displayed by the device.”
Medical devices made by Chinese companies have quietly made their way into many hospitals and clinics in the United States, bringing with them hidden risks that are waiting to be abused by the CCP.
Video
First, patient privacy is compromised when unknown actors can access and siphon the most sensitive and confidential data from every patient in America, undermining the very foundation of trust in our healthcare system.
Compounded with the fact that Chinese law compels Chinese companies to cooperate and share information with the CCP and that China prizes big data and is gathering information on individuals around the world, we can be assured that whatever private information is gathered on American patients is not in our national interest.

Second, we cannot trust that information siphoning will not escalate to more serious tactics that put patient lives at risk. Remote access to medical devices could result in real-world harm to patients if those devices were reconfigured to display false information that then led to unnecessary and harmful medical interventions.
Video
Third, the U.S. healthcare system is becoming too dependent on Chinese companies to run our hospitals. It does not take much of a leap to think about what would happen if the CCP decided to cut off the supply of medical devices. Just like critical minerals, energy or military equipment, depending on Chinese companies for medical devices is a clear threat to American security.
What these threats amount to is that the U.S. can no longer blindly outsource medical devices – some of our most vital and sensitive equipment – to companies that operate at the behest of foreign adversarial governments like the CCP. It is critical that America has a domestic supply chain of medical devices.

Now is the time that lawmakers, both at the federal and state level, take this threat seriously and take meaningful steps to reduce the risks posed by these medical devices.
Protecting Americans from threats to their health and security should be an easy, bipartisan win.

]]>Now the Department ofHomeland Security is using “smart walls” that combinehigh-tech with good old-fashioned tall, strong barriers to prevent illegal entry. The idea is not new, even if the technology is.
The ancient Romanshad an early version ofsmart walls. AtHadrian’s Wall in what is now northern England, the Roman Empire established a wall to mark their northern frontier, punctuated by forts. Vindolandais the best preserved large fort, with the layout still visible in stone foundations and a wealth of archeological finds tohelp us guess what every building was.
Under President Donald Trump, encounters of illegal aliens at the border between ports of entry are about a tenth of what they were in the peak Biden months. (Getty Images)
Starting in the 1970s, archeologists found remarkably well-preserved personal items, due to the ideal conditions of the surrounding soil. There were not just durable coins, metal, glass and stone, but even leather shoes and clothes, as well as a trove of letters writtenonthin wood that departing troopshad failed to burn. We know a lot abouthow they lived and worked, communicated, and ran their army.
TRUMP SENDS MILITARY AFTER THE CARTELS AND IT’S LONG OVERDUE
A “dumb wall” would be just putting up a barrier andhoping noone could get over, under or around it. The Romans didn’t relyonthat. First, though their wall was easy to cross, it created a visible frontier that any northern tribes would be aware of and thus know they were crossing without permission into Roman territory. The occasionalheadona spike, evidence of which was found at Vindolanda, was a primitive warning to the illiterate tribes to the north that maybe proceeding further was a bad idea. That’s what today we’d call psychological operations, or “psy-ops.”
Second, like the U.S. southern border barrier system, the Roman wall in northern Britain alsohad early models of signals intelligence to better direct resources to areas under threat. Vindolanda was manned by a cohort, about 500 men or a tenth of a legion. The men wentonregular foot andhorseback patrol. They were ready to move to wherever a threat presented, warned either byhorse-borne messengers or by signal fires lit athigh points along the frontier. They received regular correspondence from the other forts, and occasionally from Rome itself, to keep them informed.

TRUMP’S BORDER ENFORCEMENT UNLEASHES NEW WEAPON AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
Two thousand years later, the modern U.S. Border Patrolhas more men than the Romans did in Britain, but they are still few compared to the land they cover. The Border Patrol is getting some much-needed new manpower and resources, after years of neglect under Biden and former Secretary ofHomeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who diverted staff off the line to processing and releasing illegal aliens into the country.
But even with the significant boost they are getting in theOne Big Beautiful Bill Act, they will still be thinly spread along 1,800 miles of southern border and nearly 5,000 in the north. That’s why, like Roman signal fires and messengers,high-tech cameras, sensors, drones and lightsonthe wall or around the border area can allhelp detect illegal crossings early, so that the Patrol can send vehicles and officers quickly to intercept them.
Under Biden, illegal aliens were so confident of being released that they gladly surrendered to any American in uniform. Millions were released over Biden’s four years. Under President Donald Trump, however, thingshave completely changed.Encountersof illegal aliens at the border between ports of entry are about a tenth of what they were in the peak Biden months.

And unlike the Biden years, almost none are being released into the interior to await years of the immigration process. Instead, as the law requires, they are mostly being detained throughout any applicable immigration process until the U.S.has determined whether theyhave a right to remain. This fact alonehas discouraged many from even attempting to come illegally.
DHSrecently announced the award of $4.5 billion in contracts for 230 miles of various types of barriers along the border with Mexico. This includes 80 miles of the barriers in the middle of the Rio Grande along the Texas border, which may include the effective spinning orange buoys that the state installed in the face of Biden administration opposition as part of Operation Lone Star in 2023.

TheDHS”smart wall” means not just 30-foot steel bollard walls, but better roads for Border Patrol vehicles to respond to incursions, as well as lights, cameras and sensors.Smart Wallswill be built or enhanced in El Paso and Del Rio in Texas, San Diego and El Centro in California, and in Tucson and Yuma, Arizona – site of the Morelos Gap, where I sawhundreds of illegals cross inone night in 2023.
The Roman Empire knew that walls worked. If well-manned and supported, they could create a stable frontier with limited access according to rules they set. In Trump’s second term, the United States is implementing the same, proven tactics to limit illegal entry to the United States, thus reducing drug smuggling, human trafficking and other crime.
