Former Biden White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wouldn’t directly say if Joe Biden should be president right now during an interview on CNN, arguing with an anchor about why she wouldn’t read the bestselling book about a cover-up of his decline in office.

“Do you think he should be president right now?” Keilar asked. “Do you think that he is capable right now of being president? Because that was what you were advocating for, someone who would be president in his current state until 2029?”

“I did not see anything that concerned me when he decided to run for president. I did not,” Jean-Pierre said. “This is someone that I saw every single day. Again, he was on top of the policies. He was sharp. He was someone that cared about what the outcome of the issues that were in front of the American people and what we were doing. I‘m speaking from my own personal opinion. I‘m speaking from what I saw on a day-to-day basis.”

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE INSISTS TO SKEPTICAL CBS ANCHORS THAT BIDEN WAS TREATED UNFAIRLY, ALWAYS SEEMED SHARP

Jean-Pierre is promoting a new book, “Independent,” about her break from the Democrats. She vents in the book that her boss was treated cruelly by his party when they pushed him out of the White House race.

Keilar’s colleague Jake Tapper co-authored the bombshell book “Original Sin” this year that laid out, in painful detail, numerous anecdotes of Biden’s mental decline behind the scenes and his inner circle covering it up.

“I can’t speak to sources,” Jean-Pierre said Friday. “I can’t speak to a book I actually haven’t read.”

Keilar was incredulous.

“You say you haven‘t read it, and you don‘t plan to read it,” Keilar said. “I mean, why not? I mean, if most people, a lot of people, if the leadership of their workplace imploded and someone wrote a book with 200 sources, many of them good, they would want to read it. They‘d want to reflect on that. Why not?”

Jean-Pierre has repeatedly insisted she had no concerns about Biden’s mental faculties, and she reiterated that on CNN. Biden eventually left the race last year and was replaced by Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket, who went on to lose to President Donald Trump.

Jean-Pierre is harshly critical of Democrats for not doing enough for Harris, in addition to what she considers a betrayal of Biden.

Jean-Pierre’s interviewers this week have pointed out the numerous sources who said Biden had clearly declined during his presidency, forgetting people he’d known for years and appearing lost and confused both behind the scenes and in public.

Jean-Pierre pivoting to criticizing the Trump administration during the CNN interview, saying she wanted to talk about being in an “unprecedented situation.”

“These are dangerous times, and so I‘m asking, like millions of other Americans, for the Democratic Party to meet the moment,” she said. “I‘m trying to create a conversation.”

“We talk about it every day on the show about this moment that we are in and the things we see happening every day,” Keilar replied. “We would be remiss if we didn‘t talk about how we got to this moment. That is certainly essential.”

Hunter Biden was furious with former President Barack Obama for leading then-President Joe Biden offstage with a guiding hand at a June 2024 fundraiser, according to a new book from ABC News’ Jonathan Karl.

An excerpt from the book, obtained by Axios, details how the younger Biden believed Obama had disrespected and embarrassed the president.

“I almost jumped up on the stage and said, ‘Don’t ever f–king do that to the president of the United States again — ever,'” Hunter told Karl in an interview.

“The younger Biden insisted his dad was simply taking some time to acknowledge the crowd. ‘I knew that that was going to be a meme,’ Hunter recalled. ‘That really, really, really, really pissed me off,'” the book reads.

The incident was one of many that contributed to criticism that Biden was too old to hold office, an opinion held by the vast majority of voters, according to polls from the time.

The Obama incident came just days after Biden had to be redirected by another world leader during a G7 event in Italy. The former president was arrayed with other world leaders as he appeared to wander a few steps away from the group.

The White House at the time dismissed the clip for having an “artificially narrow frame” that only made it seem as though Biden was walking away from the crowd.

Former first son Hunter Biden said Monday he was deeply “disappointed” by former Vice President Kamala Harris’ new campaign memoir.

Biden told journalist Tommy Christopher on his Substack platform that while he had not read Harris’ book, he’s been hurt by the things he’s heard coming from it – feeling she had betrayed a sense of loyalty to former President Joe Biden.

“I don’t know, I’d have to admit, it’s personally painful,” Biden said. “I just think that people like particularly the vice president is that–I guess my… Personally, you know, sense of loyalty.”

He continued, “Is it for her to, in a book, to try to distance herself and take the– what I would call the really easy path to distance herself. To–what I guess she thinks. I think that the biggest complaint about the vice president has always been is that, which I never believe, and I really mean it, is that she is not authentic.”

He accused Harris of trying to “play both sides” with her memoir, such as her retroactively suggesting that she should have encouraged the former president to drop out of the race sooner.

“[Joe Biden] chose her out of loyalty and I just don’t understand, I guess I don’t understand why someone would choose the expedient path as it relates to that relationship, their own political expediency,” Biden said.

Despite his frustrations, Biden said Harris had an “incredible résumé” and that he would have “gladly” voted for her for president in a different race.

A federal judge struck down a Biden-era rule that expanded federal anti-discrimination measures to transgender healthcare, writing that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) “exceeded its authority by implementing regulations redefining sex discrimination and prohibiting gender identity discrimination.”

The ruling from Judge Louis Guirola Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi came after a coalition of 15 Republican-led states sued over the matter, according to The Hill.

“When Biden-era bureaucrats tried to illegally rewrite our laws to force radical gender ideology into every corner of American healthcare, Tennessee stood strong and stopped them,” Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti said in a statement following the ruling. “Our fifteen-state coalition worked together to protect the right of healthcare providers across America to make decisions based on evidence, reason, and conscience.”

“This decision restores not just common sense but also constitutional limits on federal overreach, and I am proud of the team of excellent attorneys who fought this through to the finish,” he added.

Skrmetti’s office said the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi held that HHS “exceeded its authority when it issued a rule in May 2024 redefining Title IX’s prohibition against discrimination ‘on the basis of sex’ — which Congress incorporated into the ACA through Section 1557 — to include gender identity.”

“HHS’s 2024 rule represented a disturbing federal intrusion into the States’ traditional authority to regulate healthcare and make decisions about their own Medicaid programs. Specifically, the rule would have prohibited healthcare facilities from maintaining sex-segregated spaces, required certain healthcare providers to administer unproven and risky procedures for gender dysphoria, and forced states to subsidize those experimental treatments through their Medicaid programs,” it continued. “In vacating the rule, Judge Louis Guirola determined that when Congress passed Title IX in 1972, ‘sex’ meant biological sex and that federal agencies cannot unilaterally rewrite laws decades later to advance political agendas.”

The states involved in the lawsuit were Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia and West Virginia.

The rule was first created under the administration of former President Barack Obama in 2016, before President Donald Trump reversed it in his first term and then former President Joe Biden reversed it again, The Hill reported.

The judge vacated the rule universally, but the rule had already been prevented from going into effect. It has been stayed since July 2024, according to Bloomberg Law.

FIRST ON FOX: The Trump administration is trolling Democrats over their objection to President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom construction, launching an official timeline of the White House’s history that includes top scandals that plagued former Democratic presidents’ administrations.

The White House website as of Thursday includes a “major events timeline” of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., stretching back to 1791, when plans for the iconic building were first mapped out. The timeline includes a series of benchmarks such as the addition of the north portico from 1829 to 1830, and the addition of the Oval Office in 1909 under the Taft administration and the “total reconstruction” of the White House interior under the Truman administration.

The timeline also includes a handful of high-profile scandals that rocked previous Democratic administrations.

“2023: Cocaine Discovered,” one slide on the White House’s website reads. “During Biden’s administration, a U.S. Secret Service agent discovered a small, zippered plastic bag containing cocaine in the West Wing entrance lobby.”

“Speculation has pointed to Hunter Biden, an admitted drug user,” the slide continues. “Additional evidence includes a laptop, seized in 2019, which contains photos of frequent drug use alongside emails about foreign business dealings (Ukraine, China) involving his father, Joe, while he was Vice President.”

Former President Bill Clinton’s 1998 sex scandal with intern Monica Lewinsky and former President Barack Obama inviting a delegation of the Muslim Brotherhood to the White House in 2012 also were included on the official timeline.

“1998: Bill Clinton Scandal,” one slide reads. “President Bill Clinton’s affair with intern Monica Lewinsky was exposed, leading to White House perjury investigations. The Oval Office trysts fueled impeachment for obstruction.”

The Trump administration updated the White House’s website to include a historical timeline of the building, including past controversies.  (White House )

“2012: Muslim Brotherhood Visit,” another slide reads. Obama hosts “member of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group that promotes Islamist extremism and has ties to Hamas. The Muslim Brotherhood is a designated terrorist organization by nearly a dozen nations.”

Another slide takes issue with former President Joe Biden’s administration recognizing International Transgender Day of Visibility on the same day as Easter in 2023. International Transgender Day of Visibility was created by activists more than 10 years ago and is celebrated each year on March 31, with the Biden administration acknowledging both holidays in 2024.

“2023-2024: The Biden/Harris administration hosts transexuals at the White House in 2023, and goes on to establish the ‘The Transgender Day of Visibility’ on the same day as Easter Sunday in 2024,” the slide reads.

The White House’s historical timeline was launched as Democrats, from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, criticized Trump for constructing a ballroom at the White House. The 90,000-square-foot project is privately funded and will accommodate an estimated 650 seated guests, according to the White House.

“It’s not his house,” Clinton wrote on X Tuesday morning. “It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.”

TRUMP CELEBRATES WHITE HOUSE DEMOLITION AS NEW BALLROOM RISES: ‘MUSIC TO MY EARS’

“Oh you’re trying to say the cost of living is skyrocketing? Donald Trump can’t hear you over the sound of bulldozers demolishing a wing of the White House to build a new grand ballroom,” Warren added in her own criticism.

“I wanted to share this photo of my family standing by a historic part of the White House that was just torn down today by Trump,” New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim posted to X Monday. “We didn’t need a billionaire-funded ballroom to celebrate America. Disgusting what Trump is doing.”

The Trump administration has, meanwhile, celebrated that the new addition of the White House does not cost taxpayers, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt adding that presidents have long complained that the historic residence lacks a space to entertain large groups.

“Nearly every single president who’s lived in this beautiful White House behind me has made modernizations and renovations of their own,” Leavitt said on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” Tuesday. “In fact, presidents for decades — in modern times — have joked about how they wished they had a larger event space here at the White House, something that could hold hundreds more people than the current East Room and State Dining Room.”

“President Obama even complained that, during his tenure, he had to hold a state dinner on the South Lawn and rent a very expensive tent.”

Fox News Digital reached out to the respective offices of Clinton, Obama and Biden Thursday morning regarding the past controversies.

Independent journalist Andrew Leyden’s casual bike ride through the nation’s capital took an unexpected turn in July 2023 when he noticed hazmat fire trucks approaching the area around the White House.

“Something big was going on, something bigger than normal,” Leyden said in the new Fox Nation special, “Cocaine at 1600.”

The “something bigger” was a small baggie of white powder identified as cocaine.

That baggie would become the source of speculation for some time, as the Trump administration now takes another look into the case that was shuttered during former President Joe Biden’s term. That incident, and the mysteries surrounding it, are the focus of “Cocaine at 1600.”

The show investigates who brought the substance into the White House in the first place and incorporates stories and perspectives like Leyden’s to explore the incident in detail.

A source close to the investigation has confirmed to Fox Nation that a guest in the White House found the baggie and alerted the Secret Service, who in turn called the D.C. Fire Department.

“There are hazmat incidents at the White House every week outside with backpacks, and usually the Secret Service handles that on their own,” Leyden explained.

“They can see it’s a backpack, they maybe bring their dogs up, the firemen don’t even come nearby, [the hazmat teams are] not even needed.”

But when hazmat teams went into the perimeter and down West Executive, he knew something was amiss.

Leyden, who usually carries a scanner with him, said the fire department would typically make hazardous material calls on an encrypted channel, meaning no one can hear them.

However, this call went out on a publicly open channel. Despite not knowing about the discovery of cocaine in the building, Leyden described spending approximately an hour on the scene, hearing chaotic radio calls amid the chaos.

Back when President Joe Biden was presiding over essentially open U.S. borders, Iarguedthat, contrary to leftist wishes, border walls actually do work. They are not intended to stop everyone coming through, by any means, but to stop illegal people, goods and drugs getting through easily.

Now the Department ofHomeland Security is using “smart walls” that combinehigh-tech with good old-fashioned tall, strong barriers to prevent illegal entry. The idea is not new, even if the technology is.

The ancient Romanshad an early version ofsmart walls. AtHadrian’s Wall in what is now northern England, the Roman Empire established a wall to mark their northern frontier, punctuated by forts. Vindolandais the best preserved large fort, with the layout still visible in stone foundations and a wealth of archeological finds tohelp us guess what every building was.

Under President Donald Trump, encounters of illegal aliens at the border between ports of entry are about a tenth of what they were in the peak Biden months. (Getty Images)

Starting in the 1970s, archeologists found remarkably well-preserved personal items, due to the ideal conditions of the surrounding soil. There were not just durable coins, metal, glass and stone, but even leather shoes and clothes, as well as a trove of letters writtenonthin wood that departing troopshad failed to burn. We know a lot abouthow they lived and worked, communicated, and ran their army.

TRUMP SENDS MILITARY AFTER THE CARTELS AND IT’S LONG OVERDUE

A “dumb wall” would be just putting up a barrier andhoping noone could get over, under or around it. The Romans didn’t relyonthat. First, though their wall was easy to cross, it created a visible frontier that any northern tribes would be aware of and thus know they were crossing without permission into Roman territory. The occasionalheadona spike, evidence of which was found at Vindolanda, was a primitive warning to the illiterate tribes to the north that maybe proceeding further was a bad idea. That’s what today we’d call psychological operations, or “psy-ops.”

Second, like the U.S. southern border barrier system, the Roman wall in northern Britain alsohad early models of signals intelligence to better direct resources to areas under threat. Vindolanda was manned by a cohort, about 500 men or a tenth of a legion. The men wentonregular foot andhorseback patrol. They were ready to move to wherever a threat presented, warned either byhorse-borne messengers or by signal fires lit athigh points along the frontier. They received regular correspondence from the other forts, and occasionally from Rome itself, to keep them informed.

TRUMP’S BORDER ENFORCEMENT UNLEASHES NEW WEAPON AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Two thousand years later, the modern U.S. Border Patrolhas more men than the Romans did in Britain, but they are still few compared to the land they cover. The Border Patrol is getting some much-needed new manpower and resources, after years of neglect under Biden and former Secretary ofHomeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who diverted staff off the line to processing and releasing illegal aliens into the country.

But even with the significant boost they are getting in theOne Big Beautiful Bill Act, they will still be thinly spread along 1,800 miles of southern border and nearly 5,000 in the north. That’s why, like Roman signal fires and messengers,high-tech cameras, sensors, drones and lightsonthe wall or around the border area can allhelp detect illegal crossings early, so that the Patrol can send vehicles and officers quickly to intercept them.

Under Biden, illegal aliens were so confident of being released that they gladly surrendered to any American in uniform. Millions were released over Biden’s four years. Under President Donald Trump, however, thingshave completely changed.Encountersof illegal aliens at the border between ports of entry are about a tenth of what they were in the peak Biden months.

And unlike the Biden years, almost none are being released into the interior to await years of the immigration process. Instead, as the law requires, they are mostly being detained throughout any applicable immigration process until the U.S.has determined whether theyhave a right to remain. This fact alonehas discouraged many from even attempting to come illegally.

DHSrecently announced the award of $4.5 billion in contracts for 230 miles of various types of barriers along the border with Mexico. This includes 80 miles of the barriers in the middle of the Rio Grande along the Texas border, which may include the effective spinning orange buoys that the state installed in the face of Biden administration opposition as part of Operation Lone Star in 2023.

TheDHS”smart wall” means not just 30-foot steel bollard walls, but better roads for Border Patrol vehicles to respond to incursions, as well as lights, cameras and sensors.Smart Wallswill be built or enhanced in El Paso and Del Rio in Texas, San Diego and El Centro in California, and in Tucson and Yuma, Arizona – site of the Morelos Gap, where I sawhundreds of illegals cross inone night in 2023.

The Roman Empire knew that walls worked. If well-manned and supported, they could create a stable frontier with limited access according to rules they set. In Trump’s second term, the United States is implementing the same, proven tactics to limit illegal entry to the United States, thus reducing drug smuggling, human trafficking and other crime.
